From: Ty (Alterra Race Director)
Subject: Alterra Race Course Report

07-24-10

The Trails are closed.

The Alterra Coffee Bean Classic has be rescheduled to August 29.

07-8-10 (hrs: 3.5 workers: Ty, Carlos,Greg,Sanja)

As soon as the grass found out Carlos was coming, they new their hay days were here. Carlos knocked out the Alterra Downhill to golf green perfection. Greg took the Butcher and headed into the single track were he lost all his blood due to mesquitos. Sanja and I staked and signed the entrance to the Switchback & Alterra Climb to the top. Great job fellas...I can't wait to ride my bike!

07-2-10 (hrs: 3.5 workers: Ty, Greg, Tim, Angie,Christine)
Continued working on the Cap. It needs a bit more attention so the whole crew focused on the troubled areas and sweeten it up. Thanks to gang for coming out and busting a sweat!

07-1-10 (hrs: 3.5 workers: Ty)
Hooked up with The Butcher and The Barbar and headed for the Cap. Cleared trail along Crystal Ridge Drive and about 3/4th along 76th street. All together, half of the Cap has been mowed back and should be quite fast. I plan of finishing off the rest of the Cap tomorrow and hopefully put up some signs too.

06-21-10 (hrs: 3.0 workers: Ty, Greg, Todd)

Despite the unpredictable weather, we've completed whacking and mowing the climb to the top of the hill, the decent, and the pass to the O'Malleys. The comp/elite course is almost completed. Thanks fellas for working on the steep hill with the head diving swallow birds that were pissed cuz we were whacking their homeland.

06-17-10 (hrs: 3.5 workers: Ty)

Took the Butcher and the Barber to the top of Switchback Climb and groomed a path to the bottom of The Wall. Just one step closer to having the front the course complete. So now we have the Alterra Downhill groomed well enough to putt on, the Switchback Climb has been groomed wide enough to allow for passing, and the passway from the top of the Switchback Climb to the bottom of The Wall is complete. Next, we will clear the top of the hill of all weeds (we need enough room for raging fans), the Pavia Plunge (with fencing), and The Desent will need to be opened. Hopefully, this coming Monday will allow for a productive trail day and the latter will be done. Evil Smile

06-14-10 (hrs: 3 workers: Ty, Tim, Greg, Zak,Carlos)

Today we return to complete the job we started last week. Zak took charged and routed his whacker to the Pavia Plunge, while Greg, Carlos, and I continued our march of destruction on the Alterra Downhill. Getting to the bottom of the hill with the sun just above the tree line, we turned our mowers up hill and cleared the switchback climb. Once at the top of the hill and light fading away, it was time for a nice cold rewarding beverage. As we stand around the cars admiring our work, my phone rings with the sound of Tim, "Kevin's Heaven" is done! Yep, Trusty Ol Tim with his weed whacken fury was in his own heaven. We had no idea Tim was taking care of business.

Thanks again fellas!

This course couldn't kick ass without all of your help and dedication.Clap

06-7-10 (hrs: 3 workers: Ty, Tim, Greg)

Today's focus was to cut grass on the Alterra Downhill and weed whack kevin's Heaven. Arrived to the CR lot around 5:15 and unloaded car full of manly tools. Greg and I managed to expose the trail back to the burm. Tim grabbed the weed whacker and wondered off to Kevin's Heaven where you could hear his loud roar from the hill.

As sick as you might think this sounds....it's good to see the backbone of the "Alterra Trail Workers" again.

Thanks fellas!
